It's..............du-du-du-dahhh........Picture Day!

FO #1 crazy pink socks. These socks are solely (hehe) knit in traffic jams and while I walked at lunch hour. The yarn is pink masquerade from Dashing Dachs, and the pattern is Holey Socks. Looks like I made them shorter than the pattern. There's also a ton of mistakes in the lace pattern, but due to the overly colorful colorway, I didn't really care much cuz I guaranty no one will ever see the goofs. They feel mmmmm.
Next - another FO! Here's my orange tank. It looks ok on, and if I locate my black-wear-under-it tank, I'll model it & post another pic. I'm not thrilled with it, but I think that's more I'm not thrilled with my size - probably I shouldn't take it out on the poor little tank. It was a quick knit - nice summer project. No linkies for you on this one - it was lys yarn (Berocco cotton/rayon I think) and lys provided pattern.

Lastly my Dragone shawl! Pattern - please, please check out Sharon's etsy shop for her other shawl patterns. I don't hear much about her designs on the lace/shawl groups I belong to, and I think they are all just superior. And yarn is lace weight merino - don't have any idea of colorway - from my Uruguayan friend, Sandra, here.
Now I'm back knitting on MS3 to finish up clue number 4. And awaiting the posting of the first clue of goddessknits mystery shawl. I'm still not positive I'm going to start it; kinda wanna look over the clue first. But who'm I kiddin' - I'm soooooooooo love starting!

To Keep my Blog Alive

I get this idea that I can't post anything here unless I have pictures, and I can't take pictures when I'm home because it takes away from my knitting time!

I actually finished a pair of socks! Ok, almost finished, still need to graft the toe and weave ends, but just as good as finished, right? I keep thinking I don't need sock blockers, but these are all smooshed together so maybe I do. Or maybe I'll just wear them a bit. Or at least have them on my feet for picture purposes.

Next - I started the dragon shawl, finally! I've had this pattern for months - waiting for the right time to start it, and finally it just feels right now. It's quite a contrast following the Dragone chart compared to the MS3 chart - in some ways it's easier - or I guess at least it's predictable. I'm about 60 rows in, I think, and I am truly amazed at the design and what must have gone into it. Now I need to think about what occasions I might wear a dragon shawl....maybe the Renaissance Festival? Not sure I can get it done by then, but maybe toward the end of it.

MS3 - I finished the first chart of the 4th clue on Tuesday, which is when I picked up the dragon. I figure I will start the 2nd chart this evening, it being Friday and all. This clue has gone much, much quicker than the others - I suppose the predictability thing again, with the center section.

I shall try to do pics this weekend!

Work at Home Day

How I do love my Wednesday work at home days. Shorts and rock and no interruptions. At least not many. And it's 6:30, dinner's done and we're relaxing - usually I'm still doing prep.

On to knitting - clue 3 on the mystery stole has been done for a couple days.
Here's another picture - it surprises me, not only in my pics but others I've seen, how the beads barely show. Mine are quite a contrast in color and do show well irl.
I spent alot of weekend time at my computer so made lots progress on my orange tank. I'm kinda worried about the shaping of the whole thing - seems wider than it should, but then so am I.
I'm enjoying a little down time from the MS3 clues. I'm hoping to do a few projects for the Fluff Factory Auctions which will be coming up in August and I will write about later. Also I'm thinking I need to leaf through my patterns and start another shawl......gawd I love starting things.

7-14 Post

I am enjoying knitting this shawl sooooooooo much! Melanie, the mystery designer, suggested white or black to stick to the shawl's theme, but I was desparate to start so I got the beads I liked best at Walmart, arranged potential coordinating lace weight on my bed and chose this combination. The beads are metallic bronze bead mix, Fashion Glass brand. I have no idea what size they are, but the tube says they are a choking hazzard and the color is not permanent. Hmmm...color's not permanent? Okay...anyway my yarn is I-don't-remember colorway from www.100purewool.com single ply merino lace.

I am totally relaxing today - I think now I shall take a bubble bath with my gossip magazine (headline - "Janet's Shocking Weight Gain!" I do indeed have something in common with Mz. Jackson), and try to align my chakras to lace knitting to begin Clue 3!

7-13 post

So, yeah, I was supposed to finish this while we were in on vacay in P-A last week, however, I didn't get much done at all. Dream vacation - knitting and watching movies or old series, guilt free, for, oh even three days. Ah well - this is what is now my traffic/computer project.

This is a lacy tank from some random pattern I got from my LYS for buying yarn. The yarn, btw, is Berroco Touche cotton/rayon - very soft. I'm thinking I'm going to go all Halloweenish and wear this orange tank over a black tank (wish I could do a cami, but....um). It's ok for a 45 year old woman to layer an orange lacy tank, right?

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get all caught up with MS3 - I have about 15 rows on clue 2, and I'm hoping I can stay caught up then (curses to that P-A vacay once more - no way I could have knit lace & beads there). I'll then get it all pinned out nice and post pics. I also really want to figure that silly godaddy sidebar - I want links and icons and an about me vanity blurb there, but it's not co-operating. Tomorrow, tomorrow!

7-12 Migrated entry from 1st blog attempt

Oh, I was so frustrated with quickblog, I decided to start over here. *kicking self* once more. I don't see how to import, so since it was all pretty new anyway, I'ma gonna c&p!

Blog Entry No. 1

Does anyone ever have a creative first blog entry? Is it generally something about finally getting around to doing it; reading everyone else's blogs and feeling left out; not really knowing what to say or if anyone will actually read?

I don't think this first entry will be any better.

There seems to be an on-line knitting phenomena that - if you knit, you blog. At least if you want to share your projects, the easiest way to do so is to paste that pic in a blog. That will be, for the most part, what this spot is all about, but of course other stuff occasionally, too.
